Properly Formatting Your Pages

Hey y'all, it's Liza aka QOS here with one of the posts in my series of blogs, Queen's Writing Help where I try to use my knowledge, experience, and personal perception of writing to help all of y'all keep honing your writing abilities in various subjects.

It's been a while but today's topic is formatting pages in general because it's something I've noticed is needed for new members and people who haven't quite figured out their own style.

And please, remember, formatting and usage of templates is an essential for an aesthetically pleasing and functional page.

Disclaimer: These are my personal views and tips on writing. You may take them with a grain of salt or as serious as you'd like.

Templates

Ah yes! The backbone of any page are templates, such as infoboxes (aka the boxes on the right of every page,) quote templates and even formatting templates! In this section, I'm going to talk about my personal recommendations of templates for different pages.

All templates listed are free use.

Infoboxes

Alrighty, so here's a list of infoboxes, including my recommendations and the infoboxes I have made.

Character Infoboxes

Page Formatting

While infoboxes and templates are very important on pages and help get them up to wiki standards, the formatting of you page is also a core component as well as the content.

Here I'm going to show a few examples of formatting for various pages, though feel free to mix and match your own.

Character

Characters are pretty simple, they generally require the same bases with appearance, personality, history and powers but beyond that there are a ton of varients of it. Here are a few I recommend:

Magic

Magics are more variable than characters- as with Slayer Magics there is usually more on the page, while for basic simple magics there are generally only three, or even as little as two sections for a consise more spell-like magic.

Less Common Formattings

I'm not going to sit here and explain every single possible formatting on any possible page you might make, so here are a few tips for non-magic or character pages when you're figuring out how to break things down. Make sure to include all important facets of it in a section for each- for things that are involved or "subsets" of a larger section do a "===" and "===" on either side instead of two.

Honestly this was a pretty quick one, but I felt it was necessary to at least get a list down of some quality templates to use as well as some formatting for people struggling with figuring out how to format their pages.
